Celebrations all around at Meyer House Care Home

We’ve enjoyed lots of fun at Meyer House Care Home recently and it’s been wonderful to see so many smiles, and a good few haircuts too – very smart!

We enjoyed our own ‘Ladies Day’ for Royal Ascot week. Our staff got dressed in their smart outfits and fascinators and we had a lovely floral backdrop for our photoshoot!

We’ve had lots of family interactions too; June was very pleased to have a lovely visit with her daughter Angela, John loved his video chat with Claire and Sue and Pauline has spent time chatting with her granddaughters at a social distance through the window.

Daphney and Colin celebrated their wedding anniversary on Sunday 21 June. They have been married for 29 years and Daphney received some beautiful roses to mark the special day. Happy anniversary to them both!

Our residents have enjoyed some delicious cheese and wine, served by Charlotte and Liza and they’ve also been busy making scones from scratch too!

Eileen Pallen, one of our local Councillors, helped us to arrange for singer Annie to come and perform outside Meyer House to entertain our residents. This was a lovely treat and we all enjoyed her repertoire of songs.

And it’s been rainbows galore! Julie spotted a rainbow over Meyer House which was beautiful and we’ve received another gorgeous rainbow picture and letter from our Reflexologist Meike’s son Corey, with some yummy cupcakes. Thank you Corey for such a thoughtful gift!

We also received a bottle of wine as a thank you from our District Nurse, and chocolates and sweets from our resident Kath’s family. Thanks to them both for their kindness.
