There was a real buzz around Meyer House Care Home on Tuesday 5 February as we welcomed relatives to join our residents for a special home-cooked Chinese lunch.
We decorated our dining room with Chinese hanging lanterns and an array of red and gold table decorations including pretty hand fans, Fortune Cookies and a lucky envelope with chocolate money inside.
Our menu featured Sweet & Sour Chicken and Beef in Black Bean Sauce and we had a fantastic selection of nibbles to try including prawn crackers, spring rolls and chicken satays with dips. An amazing Chinese feast for the eyes and tummies!
To get us all into the ‘New Year’ spirit we also had traditional Chinese music playing in the background while we dined.
As part of the day’s activities we held a quiz and enjoyed doing word searches and colouring.
It was a really wonderful occasion and super to see our resident enjoying time with their visitors. A huge thank you to everyone who came to join us and to our Chefs for providing such fantastic food.
