There was lots of singing and Union Jack waving in Meyer House Care Home last week as we all enjoyed celebrating VE Day together, over four days!
Our Manager Gill looked the part in her full service uniform (and impressive moustache!) and we enjoyed decorating our Home with flags and wartime displays.
We started on Thursday 6 May, with entertainment from one of our favourite singers, Jamie. He is great fun as he always does a costume change as part of his performance and he sang a host of popular wartime tunes that our residents all know.
On Saturday 8 May, there was lots of laughter with our wartime karaoke show which we played from YouTube, with all the lyrics displayed on our TV. We all really enjoyed singing along together.
We finished off with an online show which featured a mixture of war songs and old time songs, plus a wonderful afternoon tea on Sunday 9 May, when our VE cupcakes, doughnuts and pink lemonade went down a treat!
