Vending machine treats at Meyer House Care Home

Our Recreation and Well-Being Champion Charlotte has been looking on the internet recently for craft ideas and found a fun handmade vending machine that she decided to make for our residents at Meyer House Care Home.

Using a painted cardboard box, cut out and decorated with buttons and pegs, residents chose the sort of items they would like in their vending machine and Charlotte set about putting it all together.

The finished vending machine is great fun and holds a lovely selection of sweets and mini chocolate bars. A resident decides which item they would like, pushes in a paper coin and then presses down on their preferred choice – and as if by magic they can retrieve it from the bottom slot!

The brilliant machine is taken to individual residents wherever they are, and can be replenished appropriately.

Charlotte and her colleagues are also thinking of using this for selecting prizes when residents win various games taking place at our Home.

Top marks to you Charlotte for such a fun idea which has given our residents lots to smile about!
