A tribute to Pauline at Meyer House Care Home

It has been a very sad time at Meyer House Care Home recently as we have lost one of the very best – our dear Carer Pauline.

Pauline worked at Nellsar for 16 years, until she recently lost her hard-fought battle against cancer.

To say Pauline will leave a huge void is an understatement, as she really did put the ‘care’ into ‘Carer’. She worked alongside her best friend Brenda for many years, and their kindness and generosity to our residents has not gone unnoticed and will never be forgotten.

Pauline will be greatly missed by everyone; colleagues, residents, families and anyone who visited our Home will always remember her fun-loving nature. One of her favourite things to do was dressing up and she’d jump at the chance to put on a costume! Our entertainment would always be planned around Pauline’s shifts, as she had an outfit or bought a t-shirt for every single occasion. If any of our Carers didn’t have an outfit, Pauline would get one for them….no one got away with it!

Her energy was wonderful to witness and she could often be seen dancing with our ladies and gents, who loved her. In tribute to her, we’ve had so many beautiful comments from our residents and team members. Here are just a few:

“One of a kind”
“A heart of gold”
“She genuinely cared about us residents”
“Funny, kind and will never be replaced”
“They broke the mould when they made Pauline!”

Pauline’s legacy will be carried on at Meyer House and the joy and laughter she brought to our Home will be remembered forever.

We miss you Pauline.

Love from everyone at Meyer House xxx
