We celebrated Onam at Meyer House Care Home on Tuesday 22 August, with members of our team performing some traditional Indian dances.
Onam is an annual Indian harvest festival celebrated predominantly by the Hindus of Kerala. A major annual event for Keralites, it is the official festival of the state and includes a spectrum of cultural events.
Our dancers looked beautiful in their lovely costumes and brought in some delicious home-cooked food for us all to try, which went down very well.
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and all the colourful decorations, and are eagerly awaiting our next Indian celebration.
