Our new Meyer House Care Home resident Lilian used to be an avid film buff in her younger days, so much so that she used to write to popular Hollywood stars for their photos and autographs.
Her efforts didn’t go amiss, as she now has albums full of Hollywood legends with hand-signed photos, some of which are addressed directly to her.
Her prize possession is a personal hand written letter and message on a photo from the great Joan Crawford which was sent to Lilian on 10 May 1957.
We all had a wonderful afternoon on Friday 22 December, looking through all the albums to see who we could recognise. Stars included James Cagney, John Wayne, the Andrew’s sisters, Ronald Reagan, Judy Garland, John Mills, Richard Attenborough, Doris Day, Elizabeth Taylor and many, many more.
What an amazing collection!
